Offshore Supply Vessels and Crew Boats for Wind Farms
The further away from land an offshore wind farm
operates, the higher the requirements for its service ships. With MTU
diesel engines producing between 261 kW (Series S60) and 2,240 kW
(Series 4000), crew boats, supply ships or tenders and wind farm
maintenance vessels (WMV) can quickly and safely move from land to the
wind farm.
Our diesel engines also power many other support ships, such as service
operation vessels (SOV), dock ships or jack-up ships and seajacks,
swimming cranes or wind turbine installation ships (WTIS) and cable
layers, and can allow them to operate for many weeks at sea if
necessary.
Our proven drive systems are used in monohull workboats
and in catamarans, as well as in SWATH dual-hull boats. In larger
vessels our compact diesel engines can be integrated directly into the
floats to save space. Robust MTU diesel engines make workboats extremely
resilient and reliable in all types of weather and swells. Our
diesel-electric drive systems and corresponding drive solutions make
multi-purpose ships, crew ships and offshore service ships highly
maneuverable, economical and maintenance-friendly, and enable them to
take on a wide variety of challenges.
